Indian Foundation of Advanced Cardiovascular Interventions (IFACI)

The Indian Foundation of Advanced Cardiovascular Interventions (IFACI) is a charitable trust established in 2018 with a mission to advance treatment of cardiac patients in India with a focus on most complex patients and high-risk heart diseases. IFACI is committed to the education, training, research, and innovation required to treat patients who have traditionally been considered inoperable or undertreated due to high-risk association with the severity or complexity of their cardiac conditions.

The Foundation is focused towards creating a robust and inclusive platform that brings together interventional cardiologists, researchers, allied professionals, and policymakers to improve procedural outcomes, build scientific validation, and promote scientific evidence-based exchange of knowledge and expertise in the treatment of complex cardiac and structural diseases.

IFACI’s core activities include:

  • Organizing scientific conferences, workshops, and case-based learning sessions for training in high-risk complex PCI.

For this purpose, IFACI has been conducting an Annual Scientific Course - “The CHIP-CTO India - Achieving Best Outcomes in Complex PCI”, which is the region’s biggest course in South Asia for the exchange of knowledge and expertise between national and international interventional cardiology leaders. This highly successful training program, especially for early-career Gen X, is attended by more than 1,000 interventional cardiologists and helps percolate improved expertise and outcomes to even tier 2 & tier 3 Cath Labs of India.

In addition, the CHIP-CTO Grand Rounds and webinars are focused group training sessions in a unique format of interactive learning.

Other Activities:

  • Conducting public education campaigns and publishing newsletters to disseminate the latest in cardiovascular science.

  • Supporting research and innovation through grants, training, and collaborative projects.

  • Promoting access to advanced cardiovascular care for underprivileged patients through philanthropic support.

  • Facilitating knowledge exchange through national and international collaborations and supporting medical professionals in attending educational forums worldwide.

Through these initiatives, IFACI aims to ensure that the benefits of cutting-edge technology, scientific progress, and global expertise are translated into better outcomes for patients across India.

About ‘CHIP-CTO’

CHIP-CTO India is the flagship annual scientific meeting of IFACI, launched in 2019 as a pioneering platform for advancing the field of Complex and High-Risk Indicated Procedures (CHIP) and Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO) in interventional cardiology. Conceived by Dr. Ashok Seth and the National & International renowned Course Directors, the program was envisioned to address the growing need for specialized expertise in managing high-risk coronary interventions and patients with complex comorbidities.

From its inception, CHIP-CTO India has evolved into one of the largest interventional cardiology meetings in South Asia, bringing together globally renowned experts, young interventionalists, and technology leaders to share best practices, innovations, and real-world experiences. The program’s unique strength lies in its immersive, case-based format that enables hands-on dedicated learning, interactive discussions, and peer-to-peer engagement, case presentations, of the most complex interventional cardiology expertise and therapies.

In addition to the annual scientific meeting, CHIP-CTO India Grand Rounds are highly interactive, focused training sessions held throughout the year. This unique format brings together small groups of interventional cardiologists for in-depth case-based discussions, expert commentary, and collaborative problem-solving—ensuring that the learning and skill enhancement initiated at the annual course continues year-round.

Highlights of CHIP-CTO India include:

  • Live and recorded complex PCI case discussions with leading global operators.

  • Sessions on hybrid CTO techniques, advanced hemodynamic support, and imaging-guided PCI.

  • Dedicated hands-on training on atherectomy, imaging, robotic PCI, and mechanical circulatory support.

  • Exploration of cutting-edge developments like artificial intelligence in imaging and next-generation intravascular devices.

  • Open forum discussions where young cardiologists can “ask what they always wanted to,” breaking barriers to experiential learning.

More than just a meeting, CHIP-CTO India represents a movement to bridge the gap between global innovation and real-world practice. By fostering collaboration between experts from India, Europe, the US, and Asia, the forum helps expand access to high-end cardiovascular care and ensures that innovation is not limited by geography.

CHIP-CTO India 2026 is scheduled from January 30 to February 1, 2026, in New Delhi—and promises to once again be a hub of scientific exchange, innovation, and excellence.
